How many Black inmates were incarcerated in Forest County in Q1?

Two Black inmates were incarcerated in Forest County in the first quarter of 2023, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.

This is unchanged from the quarter before.

Jerry Alabran, a 24-year-old White man, was the youngest inmate in Forest County in the first quarter of 2023.

Incarceration rates in Pennsylvania have increased dramatically, imprisoning more than seven times the number of people in 2019 than in 1970.

Sentencing practices in Pennsylvania were found to have overwhelmingly impacted people of color.
