Census Bureau: 2.1% of people in Clarion County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 37,571 citizens living in Clarion County in 2021, 97.9% said they were only one race, while 2.1% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Clarion County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 95.8% or 35,995 individuals. Following them, African American accounted for 1.5% and totaled 564 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Clarion County is 2.2% lower than the state average, which stands at 4.3%.
