WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson responded to President Biden's State of the Union Address with a critical statement, highlighting what he perceives as shortcomings in the President's speech.

Thompson expressed his view that President Biden's address seemed more like a campaign speech rather than a genuine assessment of the state of the nation. He stated, "Tonight, President Biden attempted to gloss over the past three years of his policy failures, treating the State of the Union like a campaign stop on the road to November's election. The American people are smarter than that."

The Representative went on to critique the President's handling of the economy, pointing out that despite claims of a booming economy, families across the country, including in Pennsylvania, are facing significant financial challenges. Thompson highlighted the burden of rising costs at the pump, the grocery store, and across various goods and services.

Moreover, Thompson raised concerns about the situation at the southern border, describing it as a "catastrophic failure." He emphasized the impact of illegal crossings, citing both humanitarian and national security crises. In his view, the gravity of the situation demands concrete actions rather than mere rhetoric. Thompson concluded by stating, "America needs less lip service and more action."

Thompson's remarks underscore a perspective critical of the Biden administration's policies and priorities, particularly in the realms of the economy and immigration.

As political discourse continues to evolve in the lead-up to the upcoming elections, contrasting viewpoints like Thompson's reflect the diversity of opinions shaping national debates.
