Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Crawford) will host a shredding event for residents of the 64th District on Saturday, Oct. 12, from noon to 2 p.m. at his district office located at 3220 State Route 257 in Seneca.

The event will feature an on-site industrial paper shredder and allow residents to shred up to four large boxes of materials per vehicle. The boxes will be returned to residents.

“This is a great opportunity to shred sensitive personal documents more quickly and efficiently than a home shredder,” said James. “I am grateful to host this event so residents can eliminate any risks of falling victim to stolen identities.”

Items recommended for shredding include credit card statements or applications, bank statements, canceled checks, old income tax information, insurance and medical records, and any other documents containing Social Security, credit card or bank account numbers.

Items that will not be accepted include phonebooks, newspapers, and bound books. The event is intended for personal use only; papers from businesses and organizations will not be accepted.

Shredding services will be provided by Iron Mountain. Registration is not required. Residents with questions are asked to call the district office at 814-677-6413.
