FOIA Request to Clarion County Election Department Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024.
As a team at Northwest PA News, we are committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. We recently submitted a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, specifically seeking information about pre-election testing of voting machines in the county.
Our request includes obtaining a report in PDF format that outlines the following details: test date, machine manufacturer, machine model number, and machine status (whether it passed or failed). These details are crucial for us to ensure transparency and accountability in our election processes.
We believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. As we strive to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public, such requests become increasingly important. Given our role in disseminating information as a media organization, we also requested a fee waiver for this process.
