FOIA Request to Forest County Election Department Regarding Voting Machines Pre-Election Test Report on October 30, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Northwest PA News have submitted a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq. Our request is specifically aimed at obtaining the pre-election test reports of the voting machines used in the elections.
We are seeking these records preferably in an electronic format and in a PDF file that includes specific fields such as the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status indicating whether it passed or failed.
As part of our journalistic responsibility, we believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional duties which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
We will continue our efforts in gathering and reporting news to ensure that the public remains informed about their local government's activities.
