Glenn "GT" Thompson, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania's 15th district since 2009, shared his thoughts on Veterans Day and the National Boy Scout Memorial Anniversary via social media. Thompson has been serving in Congress following his predecessor John E. Peterson.

On November 11, 2024, Glenn Thompson reflected on Veterans Day by stating that it serves as "a reminder of the courage, strength, and dedication that define our armed forces." He expressed gratitude towards veterans for their sacrifices and acknowledged a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid. "Veterans Day is a reminder of the courage, strength, and dedication that define our armed forces. We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. Thank you to all our veterans for the sacrifices you and your families have made."

On November 14, 2024, Thompson attended an event commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the National Boy Scout Memorial in Washington D.C., where he discussed how Scouting has influenced his life. He stated: "On Saturday, I was honored to attend the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the National Boy Scout Memorial in Washington, D.C. and share my experience on how Scouting has guided my life."

In a follow-up message posted on the same day, he elaborated on how Scouting helps youth develop leadership skills and self-confidence while fostering community connections: "(2/2) Scouting enables the next generation of youth to develop leadership skills, connect with their community, and build self-confidence. I will always cherish the time I spent in Scouting and value its role in shaping me into who I am today."
