On February 11, 2025, Thompson announced a significant development regarding Marc Fogel, who had been detained for over three and a half years. In his update, Thompson shared that Fogel was on his way back home from Russia. "After more than 3 1/2 years of being detained, I have just learned that Marc Fogel is on his way home from Russia."

In another post dated February 12, 2025, Thompson highlighted a legislative effort aimed at restoring whole milk access in schools. He thanked colleagues from the Education and Workforce Committee for supporting the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act and emphasized its importance in providing necessary nutrients to students in school lunchrooms. "Restoring access to whole milk in schools is a commonsense, bipartisan endeavor. Thank you to my @EdWorkforceCmt colleagues who voted to advance the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act and are committed to ensuring students get the nutrients they need in the school lunchroom."
