The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has allocated $22 million in funding to support a wastewater project in Franklin, as announced by Representative Lee James. The financial package includes both grant and low-interest loan components aimed at advancing the first phase of a three-phase construction rehabilitation initiative.
The General Authority of the City of Franklin will utilize this funding to rehabilitate or replace 55,000 feet of the existing wastewater system. This effort is part of a broader plan to enhance local infrastructure and services.
Representative James expressed his approval, stating, “I want to extend my congratulations to the City of Franklin on this terrific news. This critical funding will ensure our great residents receive the best services available.”
Of the total $22 million, $16.72 million is provided as a grant while $5.28 million is issued as a loan. PENNVEST, established in 1988, supports various water-related projects through grants and loans for design, engineering, and construction activities.
