Rep. Lee James has announced that the State Transportation Commission (STC) approved $1.14 million in state funding for Webco Industries, Inc., located in Oil City. This funding is intended for a critical infrastructure project.

The project involves constructing a new rail spur and installing unloading and loading equipment for rail cars. The plan includes adding 700-800 feet of rail spur on Webco's property and purchasing a gantry crane to unload large steel coils weighing between 20-23 tons from rail cars. The expected volume is 20-30 rail cars per month.

“Webco Industries has a proven track record of success and has the experience and expertise to execute this project with excellence,” stated James. “I am thrilled to see this project funding approved, which will result in a positive boost to our local economic development.”

James noted that Webco Industries employs around 225 people in Venango County and approximately 1,450 employees nationwide.

The funds are sourced from the Rail Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) and the Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP).
