Rep. Lee James has announced the allocation of nearly $1.1 million in state funding from the Local Share Account (LSA) Program to benefit two community projects in the 64th District.
“I am pleased to see these significant investments made into our communities so we can further grow and improve the district I am extremely honored to represent,” said James.
Franklin City is set to receive $600,000 for the removal of a high-hazard dam on an unnamed tributary to the Allegheny River. The project aims to restore the stream channel to its original flow path, complying with Department of Environmental Protection requirements. This initiative will mitigate risks associated with dam failure and flooding while reducing sediment loads entering the watershed.
The Titusville Redevelopment Authority (TRA) will receive $491,860 for renovating the third floor of the Titusville Towne Square building into a professional networking space. The funds will cover office renovations, equipment purchases, internet costs, HVAC system updates, and building materials. The new space will feature a library, private offices, call rooms, conference rooms, cubicle space, a lounge, and an Airbnb.
These grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which oversees funding programs aimed at Pennsylvania's economic growth. LSA grants are funded through gaming revenues.
