Rep. Kathy L. Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) announced that Sugar Grove Township in Pennsylvania will be the recipient of $34,652 to extend natural gas service in the area. The funds are part of the Pipeline Investment Program (PIPE), which is designed to help construct the last few miles of natural gas distribution lines to business parks and existing manufacturing enterprises. This initiative aims to accelerate the deployment of low-cost energy and create new economic base jobs within the Commonwealth while providing residents with access to natural gas.
Rapp emphasized the importance of energy choices, saying, "It’s so important that the people of Pennsylvania have a choice in how they power their homes and businesses." She added her hope that the funding would "give Sugar Grove residents another option, which will hopefully lead to lower utility bills and more money in their pockets."
