U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson revealed Emma Zacherl as the victor of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. Zacherl, a freshman at Clarion-Limestone High School, impressed the judges with her water mixable oils painting of her dog, titled "Good Boy, Archie!" Thompson commended Zacherl's talent, stating, “Emma is incredibly talented and a remarkable artist. Her artwork blew me away and I look forward to welcoming her to Washington, D.C. to celebrate this accomplishment.”

The competition, which began in 1982, aims to recognize the artistic abilities of young constituents. This year, a record-breaking 125 entries were received from Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional District, with Zacherl's piece standing out among the rest. Her artwork will be exhibited in the U.S. Capitol alongside winners from other congressional districts for one year.

Zacherl, along with other competition winners, has been invited to attend a reception in Washington, D.C. in June. The event will celebrate the artistic achievements of these talented students.

The winners of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition are as follows:

- First Place: Emma Zacherl from Clarion-Limestone High School with her submission "Good Boy, Archie!"

- Second Place: Rosalynn Renfrew from Keystone High School with her submission "Beauty of Self"

- Third Place: Morgan Hoare from DuBois Area High School with her submission "What is Love?"

- Fourth Place: Julia Lee Butler from Armstrong Junior Senior High School with her submission "Flower"

Each of these students, including Emma Zacherl, has demonstrated exceptional artistic talent and creativity in their submissions. The Congressional Art Competition continues to inspire and showcase the artistic prowess of high school students across the nation.
