Reading Buddies
Since we were not able to hold a summer reading program this year, the Foxburg Free Library is inviting children of all ages to join our completely virtual and completely free fall reading program. Our theme is: Reading Buddies. The program will run from August 30, 2020 to October 17, 2020.
We all know that it can be more fun to read with a friend, especially if you are a beginner reader. Here at the library, we have been posting videos of books being read with our buddy, Lager the therapy dog. We are asking our participants to do the same. Every week, we will have a specific theme for a book to read.
Children will be tasked with reading any book on that theme alongside their buddy. A buddy can be anyone: a pet, a friend, a family member, a toy, a doll, an action figure. Sign-up is easy. Just email us at foxburgfreelibrary@gmail.com or message us on our Facebook page. We will then send you a checklist for the themes of each week. If you are in need of a book on one of our themes, feel free to schedule an appointment to come inside the library to search for a book or schedule a curbside pickup.
