Cory Matejovich appointed to U.S. Air Force Academy

U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson has announced that Cory Matejovich from Howard has been appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Matejovich, a senior at Middletown Valley Academy, is recognized for his achievements and dedication.

Rep. Thompson praised Matejovich's accomplishments: "Cory is an exceptional young man whose dedication inspires us all," he said. "He is among the few Civil Air Patrolmen who earned a Spaatz Award." Rep. Thompson highlighted Matejovich's hard work and leadership as qualities that will benefit him at the academy.

Matejovich holds the position of Cadet Colonel with the Civil Air Patrol and has achieved Eagle Scout status. He is also a licensed private pilot and one of only 2,567 individuals to receive a Spaatz Award since its inception in 1964.

Matejovich is supported by his family, including parents Elizabeth and Todd Matejovich, grandparents Marlene and Terry Matejovich from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and Judy Fredericks from Huntington Beach, California.
