HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong) and Sen. Scott Hutchinson (R-Butler/Clarion/Erie/Forest/Venango/Warren) have revealed the allocation of nearly $678,000 in funding from the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program. This financial assistance was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for various improvement projects.
The first grant of $599,584 was designated to Monroe Township to pave three roads within Trinity Point Development, aimed at expanding affordable housing opportunities for the community. Oberlander expressed her satisfaction with the funding, stating, “I have been working with Trinity Point for several months and I’m happy to see this funding become a reality. It is a win/win for the community in getting some much-needed infrastructure improvements while paving the way to address critical housing needs for our greater community.”
Sen. Scott Hutchinson also emphasized the significance of the project, noting, “This project will help pave the way for a planned affordable housing community called Southview Village. Housing costs continue to impact families in our community, and this project is a step toward addressing that issue and helping folks achieve the American Dream.”
The second project, funded with $178,000, was awarded to the Borough of New Bethlehem for the preliminary engineering for the Route 28 connector project. Oberlander stressed the importance of this funding for road reconstruction and repair, stating, “Inadequately maintained roads put our safety in jeopardy and cost millions of dollars in lost economic productivity. I’m proud to have helped secure funding for these important projects and to work with our local officials to keep them moving forward.”
Hutchinson also highlighted the positive impact of the design funding on New Bethlehem, stating, “This design funding for a connector road in New Bethlehem is great news for both borough residents and businesses as it will reduce congestion and smooth traffic flow to Route 28.”
The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency responsible for funding programs and investments in Pennsylvania's economic growth.
