WARREN — Rep. Kathy L. Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) announced today that Sugar Grove Township will receive $34,652 for the extension of natural gas service. The funds, coming from the Pipeline Investment Program (PIPE), aim to provide residents with more energy options and potentially lower utility costs.
Speaking about the importance of offering choices in energy sources, Rep. Kathy L. Rapp stated, "It’s so important that the people of Pennsylvania have a choice in how they power their homes and businesses." She also expressed her satisfaction with the initiative, saying, “I’m happy these funds can give Sugar Grove residents another option, which will hopefully lead to lower utility bills and more money in their pockets.”
The PIPE program focuses on constructing the last few miles of natural gas distribution lines to business parks and existing manufacturing and industrial enterprises. Its goal is to accelerate the deployment of low-cost energy, create new economic base jobs in the Commonwealth, and provide access to natural gas for residents.
The announcement of this funding signifies a step towards enhancing energy accessibility in Sugar Grove Township and potentially benefiting the local community economically.
