Rep. Kathy L. Rapp has announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has allocated nearly $500,000 to support recreation and conservation initiatives within the 65th Legislative District. The funding is provided through DCNR’s Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
The financial support will benefit several organizations in the district:
- Cambridge Springs Borough will receive $122,500 for enhancements to Cambridge Springs Recreation Park.
- Marienville Trail Riders Snowmobile Club is set to get $39,400 for maintaining and constructing approximately 200 miles of trails across six counties, including Forest and Warren counties.
- Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission is granted $100,000 to manage the 2025 Northwest Pennsylvania Greenways mini-grant program.
- Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry and Tourism will obtain $50,000 to update a river management plan covering 107 miles of the Allegheny River from Kinzua Dam to Emlenton Borough.
- Warren City is awarded $184,900 for improvements at Point Park.
“One of our district’s best assets is the wide variety of ways we have to enjoy nature,” Rapp stated. “This funding will provide even more opportunities to get outside and appreciate one of the most beautiful corners of our Commonwealth!”
