U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson, who serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, participated in the 109th Pennsylvania Farm Show by hosting an Agriculture Listening Session. The event took place in Washington, D.C., and focused on discussing federal farm policy with key stakeholders.

"Agriculture is Pennsylvania's number one industry and the Commonwealth's producers are essential to feeding, clothing, and fueling our country and the world," said Chairman Thompson. He emphasized the significance of having a representative from Pennsylvania leading the House Agriculture Committee for the first time in over 170 years. "I am optimistic we can build upon the successes of the past two years and deliver for farm country during this Congress."

During his visit to the Farm Show, Rep. Thompson delivered opening remarks that underscored agriculture's vital role in Pennsylvania's economy. He was accompanied by other members of the House Agriculture Committee, including Representative Angie Craig from Minnesota and Representative Chellie Pingree from Maine.

The listening session provided an opportunity for farmers, ranchers, producers, and consumers from Pennsylvania to voice their concerns directly to policymakers. Panelists at the session included Representatives Craig and Pingree along with Russell Redding, Pennsylvania's Secretary of Agriculture.
