Rep. Lee James and Sen. Scott Hutchinson have announced significant funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for projects in Venango County. Nearly $11 million will be allocated to two sewer projects and a water quality plan.
The beneficiaries of this funding include Frenchcreek Township, which will receive $4.78 million for the construction of a new treatment plant, headworks facility, and aerobic digesters. The General Authority of the City of Franklin is set to receive a $3.68 million loan for replacing aging waterlines along Allegheny Boulevard. Polk Borough will contribute its $2.37 million allocation towards Frenchcreek Township's wastewater treatment plant project.
"Work never stops to find ways to improve our communities in the 64th District," said Rep. James, expressing satisfaction with PENNVEST's support. "I am pleased to see our requests fulfilled so our residents can receive the best services available."
Senator Hutchinson highlighted the impact on local ratepayers, stating, "These dollars will go a long way to reducing the costs for local ratepayers."
PENNVEST has been providing grants and low-interest loans since 1988 for various infrastructure projects across Pennsylvania.
