State Senator Scott Hutchinson | Pennsylvania 21st District
Yesterday, Sen. Scott E. Hutchinson was sworn in as state senator for Pennsylvania's 21st District during the reorganization of the Pennsylvania General Assembly at the state capitol. The district encompasses parts of Butler, Clarion, Erie, Forest, Venango, and Warren counties. Hutchinson has represented this area since 2013.
“I am humbled and honored to have been reelected to continue serving the citizens of the 21st District,” said Hutchinson. He emphasized his pride in representing a region with a significant historical role in both Pennsylvania and the nation.
Hutchinson has focused on policies aimed at reducing business regulations, lowering taxes for individuals and businesses, prioritizing essential government spending, and upholding national values throughout his legislative career.
Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward appointed Hutchinson as chair of the Senate Finance Committee once again, a position he has held since 2017. “Sen. Hutchinson’s longstanding experience and knowledge of financial matters makes him an excellent choice to continue in his role as chair of the Senate Finance Committee,” Ward stated. She noted that his insight would contribute to simplifying Pennsylvania’s tax structure and fostering economic success for future generations.
Hutchinson expressed gratitude for continuing as Finance Committee chairman: “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving as Finance Committee chairman and to advance the goals of making Pennsylvania’s tax structure simpler, more efficient and more taxpayer-friendly.”
He resides in Oil City with his wife Mary Beth and their three daughters.
