U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson expressed his support for legislation aimed at ensuring more affordable energy for Pennsylvanians and protecting American energy production. In a statement, Rep. Thompson emphasized the importance of domestic energy production, particularly in rural areas like Pennsylvania, despite challenges from the Biden Administration and Governor Shapiro.

"I am proud to represent a district, and come from a state, that plays such a large role in domestic energy production," said Rep. Thompson. "Without the energy production of my district and others in rural America, our cities would wake up cold, dark, and hungry."

Among the bills supported by Rep. Thompson are measures such as H.R. 1121 – Protecting American Energy Production Act, which aims to prevent any president from unilaterally banning fracking, and H.R. 6009 – Restoring American Energy Dominance Act, which seeks to nullify proposed rules that could restrict oil and gas production on federal lands.

The congressman also backed H.R. 1023 – Cutting Green Corruption and Taxes Act, which would repeal certain environmental taxes and funds, and H.R. 7023 - Creating Confidence in Clean Water Permitting Act, which introduces reforms to permitting processes for energy producers and other industries under the Clean Water Act.

Overall, Republicans like Rep. Thompson are championing solutions to lower energy costs, reduce emissions, and ensure American energy leadership in the face of what they see as harmful energy policies from the current administration.
